Just a quick not to some of the NILMDTS parents who check my blog! You are in my prayers often and will forever be in my hearts!! I often get this question or a form of this question from a lot of the parents I volunteer for. Its often hard to understand struggles when they effect you or someone close to you first hand. Our faith is shaken and we begin to question things in our lives. The thing I hear most often is “Why us?” or “Why did God allow this to happen”

“If there is a God, a loving, merciful God, why does He allow people to suffer? How can He allow humans to experience the terrible accidents, illnesses, crime, wars and troubles that are so common in this world every day? Doesn’t He care?”

God does care. He knows when humans suffer. But, let’s remember, God isn’t a mere human. He is God. His perspective is infinitely greater than ours. He sees the “bigger picture” – that our experiences as mortal humans, however painful or unhappy, will be to our eventual benefit.

We tend to be comfortable believing in God when all is going our way. But let tragedy strike and we can quickly begin to doubt His very existence.

Are Christians forgiven of our sins? If so, why are we still suffering for our sins? Yes, all our sins are forgiven and paid for when we become Christians and accepted Christ as our Savior. However, we still have to face the consequences of our sins on earth.

Let’s remember that even the longest human life is merely like a single grain of sand on the infinite beach of the eternal life to come. After we have become immortal, even a century of the worst human pain and suffering would seem to us as almost insignificant. we will surely be the better for having experienced it.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Anticipate STRUGGLES in life.
